The unofficial sequel to Total Annihilation is in the works, and here's a little commentary on what the early screenshots look like.
For those times when you long for a simpler game, before the fancy 3D and the crazy whopper of a controller with fifteen buttons... you can pull out the old systems and play games like they were played fifteen years ago. 2D is good, 2D will live on.
